Margaret

Connor was walking around Boston after he traded with some Merchants until he heard a shrill scream. He ran after the sound to hear where it was coming from. He finally heard the scream stop and found a young woman with a dart stabbed in her arm.

Connor picked her up and looked at her in the eyes. She was a beautiful young woman with long brown curls and brown eyes. He saw her eyes fade into the darkness as she went lifeless. Connor brought her to the homestead and gave her medicine. He changed her bandages daily and used special ointments and spices to heal her.

The next day, Connor was sitting next to her on the bed stroking her long hair. He thought he might've lost hope because she had been knocked out for days. Connor left the room to get more medicine. When he came back, she woke up in a fuzzy haze.

"Where...where am I?" She questioned, still dizzy from the dart.

"You are safe here for now. Here drink this. It will help you." Connor said.

She slowly arose, but fell back. The posion from the dart kicked in and she felt very weak. Connor helped her by supporting her back with his arm and gave her the medicine. She drank it, and then stared into his brown eyes that  sparkled in the sunlight.

"Who did this to you?" Connor asked.

"Tax collectors. I refused to give them my money, but they stabbed me and stole everything in my house. Why did you save me?" She said, still dizzy.

"If I wanted you dead, I could've left you there, but seeing you were badly injured you needed my help." Connor said.

"Well I am deeply grateful. Thank you..uh.."

"Connor." He said.

"Connor. I can't thank you enough."

"And what is your name?" Connor said.

"Margaret." She said as she put her head back on the pillow, letting her curls fall down to her neck.

--------

Margaret rested in Connors' bed for the whole day, occasionally drinking and eating whatever Connor gave her. He was a good caregiver and liked helping her. Her body fought the posion and, after a couple of hours, she got better. It was almost nighttime, and Connor was exhausted. He went into his room and saw a dim candle gleam against Margaret's face. He walked up to her and sat next to her on the bed. He never left her side that night.

The next morning, Connor left the homestead to hunt for meat. He came back and saw Margaret get up and walk over to him. She wore a light purple nightgown and walked closer to Connor, but then stumbled to her feet. Connor caught her in time and looked down into her soft brown eyes.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yes I am fine, I am just a bit dizzy." Margaret said as she got back up on her feet with Connors help.

"The stew will be ready in a few minutes. Just get dressed and then we will eat." Connor said.

She got dressed and went downstairs. She noticed an unfamiliar figure with Connor.

"Margaret may I introduce you to to Achilles. He is my trainer and is the owner of this homestead." Connor said with a smile.

"Pleased to meet you Mr. Davenport." Margaret said.

"No need to call me that. Just call me Achilles."

They ate the stew that Connor had cooked and socialized. When they had finished, Connor took Margaret out for a walk in the forest.

"What happened exactly? That night?" Connor asked Margaret.

"I was walking out of my house while four tax collectors surrounded my home. They asked me for money but I refused. One of them stabbed me in the arm with a poison dart while the three others searched my house. All I can remember was that they took everything from me...." She weeped softly.

Connor took his hand and brushed away the tears on her cheeks. "Shhh it's alright ....you're safe now. You can start a new life here."

"Thank you Connor." She said.

"What about your life? Has anything bad ever happened to you?" Margaret asked Connor.

At first, a sharp pain stabbed him in the heart. All he could think of was his mother. He thought about the flames in her eyes as she sent him away. But then he finally answered, " A terrible fire happened in my village. My mother was stuck under debris when I tried to save her. She told me she loved me and then sent me away." Just thinking of the tragedy made him teary eyed.

"I am so sorry." Margaret said comforting Connor.

They walked back quietly and ate dinner. After dinner, they walked upstairs, and entered Connors' room. Margaret changed into her nightgown while Connor took off his assassin outfit off and only wore pants. The climbed into bed together. He inched closer to her and stroked her long, curly hair.

"Goodnight Margaret" He said.

--------

In the morning, Connor woke up and kissed her forehead gently.

"Good Morning." He said.

He went downstairs and made her breakfast. Margaret got dressed, and saw Connor sitting at the table with Achilles.

"Good morning." She said as she sat down.

She ate a biscuit and drank tea. After she ate, Connor got up from his chair and looked into Margaret's eyes.

"Meet me on the cliff that over looks the water before sunset." Connor said.

She smiled and nodded.

Connor went outside and walked towards the cliff. He placed white and red roses on the ground to make his suprise special. He smiled at his work and waited for Margaret to come.

"Hello Connor." Margaret said as she walked towards him.

"Margaret." He said as he kneeled down and looked into her eyes. " Even though we haven't known each other for a while...I think you are a beautiful young woman.. and I was wondering....will you marry me?" He held out a silver ring with a white diamond in his hand.

"Yes Connor!" She pulled Connor up and hugged him tightly.

"When will the wedding be?" She said still shocked.

"Tomorrow in the morning." He answered.

They both sat on the cliff and watched the sunset together. After the sun went down, Connor and Margaret went back to the homestead and slept.

--------

"Margaret...Margaret...wake up. Today is the wedding." He shook Margaret and then saw her brown eyes meet with his.

Margaret got out of bed and went downstairs. She ate a quick breakfast with Connor and then got ready for the wedding.

Connor wore his assassin outfit with black accents on it and Margaret wore a white dress with a red flower in her hair. Margaret smiled and walked into the wedding scene. She slowly walked down the isle, carrying a bouquet of red roses in her hand. She finally got to Connor. They both exchanged smiles and held each others hands. The priest was Achilles, who was in a gray suit with a red tissue in one of his pockets. They said their I do's until Achilles smiled and said: "You may kiss the bride."

Connor brushed Margaret's curls away from her face and leaned in to kiss her. The crowd clapped. After the wedding, Connor and Margaret went to the tavern where they reserved it for their party. They had a wonderful time and made many new memories. After the party, they went back to the homestead.

--------

Margaret was in Connors' room sitting at the edge of his bed while all of a sudden, she felt a warm kiss on her neck.

"Are you nervous?" He said as he looked at her in the eye.

"Y..yes." She answered.

Connor started unbuttoning her dress until it fell to the ground. Margaret started unbuttoning the first button on his outfit but Connor jerked away. He was not fond at being touched, but he let her continue anyways. Soon enough they were both naked. Connor inserted and Margaret let out a low cry.

"I am sorry. I did not mean to hurt you." Connor said.

"It is fine I'm just not use to it that's all." She answered smiling.

Connor continued and Margaret moaned in pleasure. Connor moaned at the feeling as he thrusted harder, breathing out hot, fluttered air. Beaded sweat dripped down his forehead as he gave his final thrust. He collapsed on Margaret and pulled out. After moments of catching their breath, they finally fell asleep.

--------

In the morning, Margaret woke up with a terrible stomachache. A couple minutes later, Connor woke up and changed into his assassin outfit.

"Are you feeling okay?" Connor said as he saw Margaret lay in bed.

"Yes I'm fine. I just have a horrid stomachache." She answered rubbing her stomach.

"Should I get a doctor?" He said, concerned.

"Yes. Please." She said.

Connor left the room and went outside. He hopped on a horse and rode to the nearest doctor.

"Doctor?" Connor asked.

"Yes?"

"My wife has been having terrible stomachaches. I need your help to find out what's wrong."

The doctor grabbed his horse and followed Connor to the homestead. When they reached it, the doctor followed Connor into the room where Margaret was.

"Hello Margaret. I am Dr. Adams." He said shaking her hand.

"Pleased to meet you Dr."

Dr. Adams examined Margaret and then brought Connor in the hallway to talk to him.

"Connor I have som news for you."

"What is it?" He asked.

"Your wife is pregnant."

"She is? Is she in good health?" Connor asked.

"Yes, she is doing fine right now. Here just give her these if she feels nauseous or dizzy." Dr. Adams said as he gave Connor the medicine.

"Thank you doctor." He said as he walked in to see Margaret.

"How are you feeling?" He asked as he sat by her side.

"I am fine." She said.

"Shall I bring you anything?" He asked.

"Just tea with honey." She answered as she rubbed her stomach.

A moment later, Connor brought the tea in for her. She thanked him, and drank it.

---------

Months passed by, and the baby grew bigger and bigger, until it was time.

It was late at night when Margaret felt a sharp pain in her stomach.

"Connor!..Connor!!..." She yelled, but he didn't answer.

"CONNOR!!!"

Finally, he awoke.

"What what is it!?!?"

"The baby is coming!!!" She cried out in pain.

"I will go get the doctor. Just keep breathing!!"

"Achilles!!! Achilles!! Margaret is in labor and I need to get the doctor. Please watch her." He yelled.

Achilles went upstairs and stayed with Margaret while Connor took the reins of his horse and galloped away. It was a dangerous time to be out at night because of the bears and wolves. Finally, he reached the doctor.

"Dr. Adams are you here!?! Margaret is in labor!" He shouted.

"We must hurry!" He answered.

They rode back to the homestead where they found Achilles and Margaret.

"Thank you Achilles." Connor said as Achilles left the room.

"Come on baby. You're doing great. Just one more push." Connor said as he held Margaret's hand.

She screamed and pushed.

"Here is your baby." Dr. Adams said as he handed her the baby.

Connor looked at the baby in Margaret's arms.

"It is a beautiful baby boy Connor." She said as she handed him to Connor.

"What should we name him?" She asked.

"Haytham. Haytham Kenway." He answered, rocking the baby in his arms.
